Palmettos, Moss and Deer in the Southeast

I'm out hiking at the moment before work tonight. Have you been to Fayetteville, West Virginia? If not, it has some great trails, restaurants, disc golf at Class VI, just great tourist attractions. As far as good goes, you'll want to try Pies and Pints and the Secret Sandwich Shop. By the way, I'm going to not post over the weekend to the blog, but will continue to post a daily photograph of Florida/Georgia areas to photos of the day. Here's one with deer, moss, and palmetto bushes.

While out riding the other day, I and a few friends saw a giant bit of grass that resembled palmetto and it got me a bit homesick to be honest. My papa taught me to make whistles out of them when I was a little boy. ;) Also, that is moss hanging from the tree on the right side of the photo. If ever you see it, don't mess with it much because it is home to chiggers, or red bugs. In other words, never ever wipe with those when you're out in the woods of the Southeastern US. Have a great weekend!
